Dr. Nana Bortsie-Aryee is a sustainability and life cycle assessment (LCA) specialist, currently serving as the Program Director at Global GreenTag International. In this role, he oversees the organization’s product certification programs, including the development and management of standards such as Global GreenTagCert™, Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), Product Health Declarations (PHDs), and the Modern Slavery Transparency Declaration (MSD). Dr. Bortsie-Aryee holds a PhD in Strategic Management and Water Footprinting, a Master of Engineering in International Material Flow Management, and a Master of Science in Environmental Policy and Administration. With over 15 years of international experience, Dr. Bortsie-Aryee has worked across various regions, including Ghana, Germany, the United States, and New Zealand. His expertise encompasses environmental management, water resource management, LCA, greenhouse gas emissions, industrial ecology, and business strategy. At Global GreenTag, he has been instrumental in advancing sustainability standards, particularly in the personal care and cleaning product sectors. He has led updates to certification standards to address issues like microplastics, GMOs, and endocrine disruptors, emphasizing the importance of life cycle analysis and environmental protection. Dr. Bortsie-Aryee also contributes to the broader sustainability community as a board member of the Australian Life Cycle Assessment Society (ALCAS) . His scholarly work includes publications on topics such as biofuel supply chains and sustainable cities, reflecting his commitment to integrating scientific research with practical sustainability solutions.
