Angus Johnston

For the last 25 years, Angus has specialised in organic waste recovery for composting and energy generation. His passion is diverting waste from landfill and promoting a circular economy for organics. Angus’s experience ranges broadly from private sector consulting to government program development and work with not-for-profit organisations.
Angus spent six years as National Projects Manager for the Australian Organics Recycling Association and has been an active member and volunteer since 2014, now serving on the NSW committee. He also spent several years working within NSW EPA to establish resource recovery grant programs and evaluate proposals.
From 2018 Angus founded BioCarbon Soil to develop and deliver projects that increase demand for recycled organic products, particularly in agriculture. In addition to leading Biocarbon Soil, Angus is a Principal Consultant with Jackson Environment Planning where he focusses on planning, designing, and licensing organic recycling facilities.
