Hayley Ackroyd

Hayley kickstarted her career working as an environmental consultant for a large civil engineering firm. She soon realised her interests were more aligned with sustainability, so she went abroad to Rome to study a Masters of Sustainability, focusing on Circular Bioeconomy – this is where her love with the circular economy was born. Upon returning to Australia, she secured the job as Sustainability and Resilience Officer at Waverley Council, where she leads implementation of the Bondi Junction Circular Economy Roadmap, developed in consultation with leading businesses, Council, and community. The aim of the Roadmap is to demonstrate how metropolitan councils can support circular economy principles in an Australian context.
