Dr Linda Mitchell is an accomplished scientist and innovation leader with over 10 years of experience in analytical chemistry, environmental science, and resource recovery. At Tyre Stewardship Australia, she oversees research into tyre chemistry and engineering, particularly in relation to environmental and health impacts. Her work focuses on building transparency, encouraging collaboration, and advancing research to mitigate risks, and unlock resource recovery opportunities in the tyre sector.
Dr Mitchell plays a pivotal role in driving evidence-based strategies, working closely with researchers, manufacturers, and policymakers to develop innovative technologies and establish new markets for end-of-life tyre materials. In her role, Linda champions the need for open access to research knowledge, along with promoting information sharing opportunities to fuel collaboration between public and private sectors.
Dr Mitchell holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Sydney and is a 2017 Westpac Future Leaders Scholar. Her academic and professional journey includes research projects at Durham University (UK) and Nanjing University of Science and Technology (China), further enhancing her expertise in innovation and scientific research.
