With a background in architecture, Sarah Naarden is social and ecological focused codesigner and educator who embeds First Peoples perspectives in Regenerative Design and co- development.
With 25 years experience some of her collaborations include:
• Co-producing: Regenerative Futures: at RMIT University as part of the National Sustainable Living Forum , comprising a Global Indigenous dialogue with First Peoples from Canada and Australia around restorative cultural practises and care for Country
• Co- creating: Regenerating the Kooyongkoot an Urban Living Lab and sustainability festival with workshops First Nations led care for country, circular economy, biodesign and biodiversity workshops
• Co-designing: The Aboriginal Healing Garden at Monash Health as part of a Close the Gap project learning about bush medicines.
• Co-creating the United Nations Environment Program series Learning Sustainability from Indigenous Australians in Dubai through culture, art and allied health workshops.
Currently, Sarah leads the Turruk Community program a trustbuilding cultural learning program led by First Peoples and co-founded with Initiatives of Change Australia. Over the past 5 years, the program has created over 95 truth telling forums, won a United Nations Intercultural Innovation Award and gained profound insights into an Indigenous lens to regenerative sustainability.
